Economy 2012

Description: This report presents the results of the evaluation of economy national assessment of education progress (NAEP) 2012. National results for a representative sample of grade 12 students are reported in the form of medium-scale results and as percentages of students performing at or above three levels of performance: Basic, competent and advanced. Scores are also reported at selected percentiles, indicating changes in the representations of the lower, middle and higher performing students. The report includes results for the groups of pupils according to various demographic characteristics (e.g., ethnicity, sex and level of education of parents), as well as examples of questions evaluation with examples of student responses. The 2012 evaluation results are compared with those of 2006. Technical Notes, sample NAEP and participation rate of school information and student.

Compared to 2006, only there was no significant change in the overall average score for the twelfth year. Low performing students (those in the 10th and 25th percentiles), however, did make gains, just as Hispanic students and students whose parents did not complete high school. There was no significant change in black-white score gaps, white-Hispanic and students of white-Asian/Pacific island from 2006 to 2012. In addition, it there was no change in the difference in score between students. The percentage of 12th graders perform at or above the proficient level in 2012 was 42 percent.
