Earlier this week, 49 University students reached the Esrange Space Center of SSC in Kiruna, North of the Sweden, REXUS 13 and 14 launch campaign.

REXUS means rocket experiments for students of the University.

A year and a half after their selection and after intensive work in their universities and several comments made by specialists of the area of the company Swedish Space (SSC), the Swedish National Space (SNSB) Council, the German Aerospace centre (DLR) and ESA, the teams are now closer to see the results of their efforts: their experience of seeing fly into space and return to Earth, and then analyze the results.

REXUS this year experiences range from atmospheric measurements at the behaviour of liquids and welding alloys in gravity reduced testing of new techniques to deploy structures in space.

Eight teams - sponsored by Rectorate SNSB and ESA six - and two by DLR have now finished to prepare and test their individual experiences.

Experiences of students will be linked to the Service REXUS system for a series of tests on the bench, whereupon the loads of experience will be assembled for flight simulations. Once the tests are completed, loads of experience will be mated with their rocket engines, systems recovery of rocket and headdresses.

The curriculum REXUS/BEXUS is made under a bilateral agreement of the Agency between DLR and SNSB. The Swedish share of the payload is made available to students from other European countries thanks to a collaboration with ESA.

EuroLaunch, a cooperation between Esrange Space Center of the SSC and the Base of the rocket's Mobile (Hasan) of the DLR is responsible for the management of campaigns and operation of launch vehicles. Experts of the DLR, TWS and ESA technical support to teams of students throughout the project.

REXUS and BEXUS are launched from SSC, Esrange Space Center, in the North of the Sweden.
